Skills Forward, a subsidiary of the awarding body, NCFE, were looking to upgrade their e-learning platform to meet new government requirements for Web Accessibility. The UK government is now requiring all public-sector organisations to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), version 2.1 AA.
Smashed Crab Software were asked to help audit the state of the platform as it stands and provide recommendations. Following the audit, Smashed Crab were commissioned to give development support as changes were made to meet the requirements.
We used a number of analysis tools to crawl NCFE’s e-learning platform and we created actionable reports off the back of it. It was important to identify issues in order of priority and to ensure any changes would have an effect on the greatest number of pages.
“Skills Forward were happy to engage with Smashed Crab to support the upgrading of our platform to meet the criteria of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
The work completed was extremely beneficial to the business and provided a much needed external view of what areas of our platform required further development.
We found the team very engaging, supportive and technically able to meet our needs.”
